Salon Privé London Concours de Vente returns for its third year with its biggest line-up of attractions yet. Held at the Royal Hospital Chelsea on Thursday April 18 through to Saturday April 20, 2024, it is the only concours event in the world where every entry is for sale – but this year it promises plenty of non-sale attractions and even an attempt at a world record.
Highlights confirmed for this year include a five-strong selection of pre-war classic Bentleys from Vintage Bentleys; each car is described as significant, and all have a thoroughly researched ownership history from new and are presented in their original technical specifications.
DD Classics, meanwhile, will be bringing along the unique Umberto De Mola-bodied 1937 Alfa Romeo Supersport 6C (pictured above), which has been owned by John Paul Getty, Nicolas Hayek and the Netherlands’ Prince Bernhard, who used it in the liberation ceremonies at the end of World War Two.
Lamborghinis are always a popular draw at this event, and this year is no different. Joe Macari is bringing his recently restored 1970 Lamborghini Miura P 400 S (pictured above). The 550th Miura built, it was sold new in Voitures Paris Monceau, and had owners in France and Belgium before coming to the UK in 2012.
Furlonger Specialist Cars is showing a white 1982 Countach LP400s and a black Countach 5000S. Elsewhere, Godin Sporting Cars and Motorcycles will be bringing along a 2001 AC Cobra MkIV CRS, one of just 27 carbon cars, which was originally owned by Damon Hill.
The Octane Collection will be bringing along a Ceylon Gold BMW E9 3.0 CSL that’s fresh from a four-year restoration, and has been confirmed by BMW Group Archive as being produced from the factory as a UK City Pack car. Meanwhile P&A Wood will be showing a 1966 Rolls-Royce Phantom V Touring Limousine by James Young, one of only 14 left-hand-drive PV23 cars built, from a total of just 27.
The Aston Workshop returns to the event after winning a prize at last year’s concours; this year, its star car is the above 1967 Aston Martin DB6 Volante built to Vantage specifications, finished in California Sage with Magnolia Leather.
Other dealers confirmed to attend include Car Iconic, Hilton & Moss, Fiskens, Hemmels, Hendon Way Motors, Dylan Miles, Rory Henderson, Rare Car Finance, RS Williams, H & H Auctions, Howard Wise, Charles Prince and Hillcrest Specialist Cars.
The event will see themed days, beginning with the Thursday seeing 50 Porsche 911 Turbos line up to celebrate 50 years of the model, with a one-of-11 Porsche 911 964 Turbo S Leichtbau set to be the star of the show.
On Friday, a world-record gathering of Aston Martin Valkyries (pictured above) will be attempted by the AMV Owners Club, the organisation that celebrates the Aston Martin Valkyrie, Vulcan, Valhalla, Valour and specials, including the One-77. Friday will also showcase Magnificent McLarens, with more than 30 cars on display including the Elva, Artura Spider, 720S, 675LT and others.
Supercar Saturday is presented in collaboration with the SCC private members’ supercar club, with 50 cars set to attend including a McLaren Senna, Porsche 918, Ferrari F12 tdf, Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS and Koenigsegg CCR.
Several manufacturers are lined up to attend, with the new Polestar 4 making its debut, Koenigsegg UK and Supervettura displaying the Jesko, and Aston Martin bringing along the DB12, Vantage and DBX707.
You’ll also get a chance to see the Range Rover P615 SV, Lotus Emira I4 and Eletre, MG Cyberster, Brabus 820 Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet and G800, plus the Brabus Range Rover. Other highlights include Maserati, Krazy Horse, Thornton Hundred Motorcycles, Jensen International Automotive, Porsche and many others.
