Magneto founders David Lillywhite and Geoff Love have been involved with classic and performance car magazines and websites since the 1990s – but they always dreamt of producing a magazine of the very highest possible quality.
Magneto is the result of that long-standing dream; a quarterly print magazine – and accompanying website – with articles produced by the world’s leading writers, photographers and illustrators, laid out to award-winning design by art director Peter Allen.
The features in Magneto cover not just fascinating historical happenings but in-depth stories of cars of all ages today, along with the people and the events associated with those cars. From pioneer cars of the 1890s and early 1900s to the very latest hypercars, if they’re interesting and exciting then they’re ripe to be featured in Magneto.
The first issue of Magneto was launched in February 2018 at the Rétromobile show in Paris and soon became the most successful magazine launch in the automotive sector for many years. Such has been the demand, that the first three issues have been reprinted three times already, and it has won multiple awards in the UK and US, from the PPA, SPD, Guild of Motoring Writers and Newspress.
Magneto is the only magazine that is distributed directly to thousands of major car collectors and historic motor sport competitors worldwide, via exclusive arrangements with leading event, race and rally organisers, insurers and specialists in the market. This ensures the best possible audience for advertisers – and the best possible subject matter for readers.
