The 13th edition of the Concours of Elegance returns to Hampton Court Palace in west London, UK, from August 30 to September 1, 2024.

Each year, the Concours of Elegance showcases a landmark display of rare and significant road and competition machinery, attracting more than 15,000 visitors across three days of automotive pageantry.

The 2024 event showcases 60 exceptional concours entries alongside 900 vehicles in specialised features, including the women’s Levitt Concours, Thirty Under 30 competition, car-club exhibits and Gooding & Company’s auction.

One of the favourites for the coveted Best of Show prize is a stunning 1937 Talbot-Lago T150C SS Teardrop Coupé Figoni et Falaschi. This car debuted at the 1937 New York Auto Show, raced through the 1940s, and underwent full restoration after retiring from competition in the late 1950s. It is said to be one of the most original examples in existence.

Another highlight of the concours field is a 1953 Siata 208 CS Balbo. One of only nine built and seven still in existence, the Carrozzeria Balbo-bodied classic has remained in single-family ownership since 1959, and it was awarded Best in Class at the 2018 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance. It has also appeared at the Pebble Beach Concours and made a cameo in Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.

The Talbot-Lago and Siata will be joined by a similarly spectacular 1962 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Speciale Aerodinamica, which boasts unique Pininfarina bodywork. Delivered to businessman F Gatta in 1962, this bespoke model combines the 250 SWB chassis and V12 Colombo engine with sleek bodywork inspired by the Superamerica model. It has passed through the hands of several discerning collectors.

The Concours of Elegance will also showcase the original 1973 Porsche 930 Turbo Prototype on the year of the model’s 50th anniversary. Famously displayed on the Porsche stand at the 1973 Frankfurt Motor Show, the car ushered in a new era of turbocharged performance, and began one of the marque’s most iconic nameplates.

Maserati is celebrating its 110th anniversary this year, and the brand is aptly represented in the 70-car concours field by a 1957 3500GT Spyder Vignale Prototipo – a quintessential model from the Trident’s golden era. Setting this example apart is a host of bespoke details that includes the design of the bumpers, grille, windscreen and headlight trim rings.

Away from the concours field, visitors will be treated to a special Best of British display that brings together some of the nation’s greatest cars from the early 20th century through to the present day. The captivating display will showcase cars that chart the evolution of British automotive engineering. Highlights include a 1925 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost ‘barrel-sided’ tourer, an Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato and a cutting-edge GMA T.50 hypercar.

Gooding and Company returns as the Concours of Elegance’s official auction partner and will hold its major London sale at the event on August 30. Headlining the auction is a 1935 Bugatti Type 57 Atalante (est. £3m-£4m), which leads a quartet of pre-war Bugattis from the Jack Ruben Collection. Other highlights include a 1955 Pegaso Z-102 Series II Berlinetta, a 1974 Ferrari 365 GT4 Berlinetta Boxer and a 1936 Lancia Astura Series III Cabriolet ‘Tipo Bocca’. Read our auction preview here.

The myriad automotive displays and stands will be complemented by the provision of luxury goods from the likes of Augustine Jewels, Catherine Best, Henry Poole, Launer London and Connolly Leather, among others. Renowned watchmaker A. Lange & Söhne returns as the Concours of Elegance’s presenting partner, and will be offering its world-class wristwatches for sale throughout the event.
