WatchPro Salon is scheduled to take place from November 12 to 13, 2021, at The Londoner, a new five-star boutique hotel located in Leicester Square in the heart of England’s capital city.
Event organisers have forecast the WatchPro Salon to be “a highlight of the pre-Christmas show season”, with nearly 50 of the world’s finest watchmakers in attendance, including Grand Seiko, Sinn, Parmigiani Fleurier, Oris and Laurent Ferrier.
Consequently, attendees will have the “rare opportunity to meet the people behind the brands, the watchmakers themselves, plus try to buy their watches”.
“Lockdowns have meant people have spent the past two years discovering phenomenal watchmaking online, and they are dying to see these timekeepers up close. Where better than in the ultra-luxurious surroundings of The Londoner for a show like WatchPro Salon to bring these enthusiasts, collectors and brands together?” says WatchPro co-founder, Rob Corder.
While horology is clearly the primary focus of WatchPro Salon, an engine-building live show by Jaguar specialist The Splined Hub will doubtlessly excite those with a penchant for classic cars.
The Splined Hub’s Classic Engine Workshop show will feature the live construction of a Jaguar straight-six, evolving from an array of dissociated parts into a fully functional engine. The show is intended to highlight the parallels between the intricacies of watchmaking and automotive engineering. There will also be a selection of stunning E-types displayed on The Splined Hub’s stand to demonstrate the best of the Oundle-based company’s craft.
Bonhams auction house will also be present to advise watch collectors on market trends, and to present its most anticipated timepieces to cross the block in upcoming auctions.
