California’s fast-growing Velocity Invitational event, which takes place at Sonoma Raceway, north of San Francisco, has moved from its previous October date on June 6-8.
This will be the sixth running of the event, which combines significant historic race cars with extreme hypercars, celebrities and the best of wine country’s food and beverages. We were last there in 2023, and were extremely impressed, as you can read here.
For 2025, NASCAR legends Richard ‘The King’ Petty and Kyle Petty will join the festival on Saturday June 7, for autograph sessions, Q&A experiences and more. On the track, the popular historic stock cars will return, featuring cars from NASCAR history, some of which the Pettys raced against in the era.

“I’ve heard great things about Velocity Invitational, and I’ve always wanted to get out there and see it for myself. I have some incredible memories at Sonoma Raceway, and I know it’s going to be a great day with the fans,” said Richard Petty (pictured above).
Velocity Invitational upped the game in terms of hospitality quality at a US motor sports event, and also offers extra upgrades for VIP experiences. These include entrance to The Forum at Turn 1 building, with local wine tastings, light snacks and indoor and outdoor trackside seating just a few feet away from the track; the Sonoma Room at Turn 11, with fine wine tastings, catered gourmet meals and access to exclusive events featuring celebrity drivers; and the Ram’s Gate Winery Experience, where guests can enjoy a five-course gourmet wine and food pairing menu, plus luxury transportation to and from the track.
Tickets are now on sale, with limited-time pre-sale pricing for single-day tickets and weekend packages. Single-day tickets start at $99 and kids 15 and under are admitted free. New family and couples’ value bundles have also been unveiled, including extra discounts of up to $100 over already discounted pre-sale pricing.
Additional event details will be released soon for this one-of-a-kind motorsports weekend, including celebrity drivers and memorable on- and off-track experiences, performance vehicle ride-alongs, meet-and-greets and more.
Tickets and more information are available on the Velocity Invitational website.
