A captivating array of enthusiast cars congregated at the iconic Shelsley Walsh venue in Worcestershire, UK, on May 27-28, 2023 for the latest Hagerty Hillclimb.
Positioned as a laid-back motor sport event catering to drivers of all skill levels, the Hagerty Hillclimb hosted everything from rally cars, modern classics and restomods to vintage machines propelled by chain drive – all of which tackled the oldest competition venue that still maintains its original layout.
Enthusiastic spectators flocked to witness Group A and Group B rally cars showcased by members of the Ralli 22 Club. The Group B era was represented by iconic models such as the Audi Sport Quattro and Lancia 037, while Group A boasted the presence of a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI, once driven by the legendary Tommi Mäkinen.
TV personality Paul Cowland was also present, engaging with the crowd and running his own cars up the course.
In between the exhilarating action on the track, spectators indulged in engaging conversations with the drivers and savoured refreshments from various food outlets.
“What a fabulous weekend,” said Mark Roper, managing director of Hagerty International. “We had great cars, great people and great weather to make the beautiful Shelsley Walsh even more spectacular than ever. This event encapsulates what Hagerty is all about, as we welcomed a wide range of vehicle enthusiasts in a relaxed environment where everyone was able to have fun with their cars.”
