Radical upgrades SR3 XXR and SR10 XXR ahead of 2025 motor sport season

British manufacturer Radical is set to introduce a number of upgrades for its SR3 XXR and SR10 XXR models for the 2025 motor-racing season. The upgrades focus on performance, personalisation, safety and reliability, and are being introduced in response to worldwide customer feedback. Radical says its model updates provide customers with the opportunity to “secure their 2025 season race car at 2024 pricing”.

Radical’s safety enhancements include an in-house-developed carbonfibre driver’s seat. Driven by US customer demand, the sear boasts a wrap-around headrest made from pre-impregnated carbonfibre, offering improved strength and reduced weight compared with its GRP predecessor. The new seat is available for left-hand-drive, right-hand-drive and central seat configurations.

Excellent reliability is paramount for any race car, and Radical has scoured areas of potential weakness using advanced computer-modelling software before testing modifications in both virtual and real-world environments. The SR10 XXR’s reoworked bellhousing, for example, was designed upon simulated stress tests to reduce the chance of cracking. The car’s carbonfibre front splitter has also been redesigned, and is manufactured from aerospace-grade epoxy resin for more durability and a better fit than the component it replaces.

Several performance upgrades have been made to shave those all-important tenths of a second from the driver’s lap times. Improvements include a lighter clutch and flywheel that increase throttle response and reduces rear-axle shift-locking, as well as a faster 1:71:1 steering ratio. Radical has also reprofiled the sidepod inlets to reduce understeer during high-speed cornering.

Radical’s 2025 line-up offers expanded personalisation, including custom body colours, lightweight colour-matched Braid wheels and bespoke liveries. Customers can also opt for colour-contrasting safety harnesses, and each finished car will be taken for a photoshoot before being shipped to its final destination.

Existing SR3 XXR and SR10 XXR owners can upgrade their current cars to 2025 specification now at 2024 pricing.
