This year’s Hillsborough Councours d’Elegance saw more than 200 stunning collector cars assemble on the immaculate fairways of the Crystal Springs Golf Course in California, US on June 28, 2024.
A one-of-a-kind 1937 BMW 326 Sport Cabriolet emerged as the winner of the coveted Best of Show: Sport prize, while a 1934 Packard 1101 took the prestigious Best of Show: Elegance crown. These pre-war treasures bagged top prizes after edging out 18 other class-winning vehicles.

2024 marked the 68th edition of Hillsborough, which stands as the longest continuously running concours in the world. This year’s event paid tribute to the 60th anniversary of the Ford Mustang, the 35th anniversary of the Mazda Miata sports car, 30 years of the Ferrari Challenge race series and the 125th anniversary of Packard.
As well as winning the Best of Show: Sport and CCCA Approved Classics class awards, the BMW 326 also took the Sid Colberg Award and the People’s Choice Award by popular vote.
The 35th anniversary of the iconic Miata was recognised with a display of historically significant examples organised by Mazda USA and the Bay Area Mazda Association.
Highlights included the first three US-spec production models, as well as previously publicly unseen cars from the Japanese manufacturer’s design centre. These included a 1993 M-Coupe Concept, a 1989 NA Speedster that cameoed in the first Fast and Furious film, and a 1989 Club Racer concept. Mazda’s first rotary sports car, a 1967 Cosmo, was also on display.
Capping off the Miata celebration was an interview with the car’s chief designer Tsutomu ‘Tom’ Matano, who has served as an honourary judge at the Hillsborough Concours on multiple occasions.
The concours contest brought to a close a memorable weekend of motoring festivities that kicked off on Saturday June 27 with the Hillsborough Tour d’Elegance. This saw 100 classics take part in a road rally across the Bay Area’s winding back roads.
