A new online auction portal called Collecting Automobilia is to have its public launch during Monterey Car Week.
Dedicated to rare books, art, prints, models and everything in between, originality is key – cheap reprints are not allowed. Each auction item runs for a month, with 24/7 bidding from across the world available. There are no selling fees, and transparent shipping costs and top-quality packaging are promised. The buyers’ premium is 21 per cent plus VAT at 20 per cent of the buyer’s premium.
The team behind Collecting Automobilia is Hortons Books. They offer a number of services via its offices in Monterey and in the UK, including sourcing, estate sales and specialist advice.
Some highlights for August’s sales include a display of original racing lenses used by Alberto Ascari, a rare set of Ferrari Enzo luggage by Poltrona Frau, a Maserati MC12 service book in Alcantara and a Japanese poster for Bullitt.
Members of Collecting Automobilia will be present at several events during Monterey Car Week, and there’s a chance to win a free copy of Bentley – The Vintage Years, by Clare Hay by signing up for more details. Collecting Automobilia can be found at https://collectingautomobilia.com
