The Classic Motor Show marks its 40th anniversary at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre from November 8-10, 2024, showcasing Britain’s largest indoor gathering of historic vehicles. The vast event will see more than 3000 vehicles and hundreds of motoring clubs and exhibitors positioned in the expansive exhibition halls.

‘Hall of Fame’ has been revealed as the theme for the 40th anniversary event. The Hall of Fame will be a recurring feature, and its first four inductees will be celebrated in 2024. Each year, inductees will be split among four categories: Industry Ambassador, Community Ambassador, Classic Car and Motoring Club. To view the shortlist, click here.

“We wanted to create something special that not only celebrates all that we’ve achieved so far as a show and as a community, but also recognises those who continually fight for the future of our hobby,” explained show director Lee Masters. “Each year, the Hall of Fame will aim to recognise those people and publicly thank them for their efforts.”

Other additions for this year are the DadCars Family Zone and live Podcast Lounge. Held in partnership with YouTuber DadCars, the Family Zone aims to provide a sub-show for families, offering activities such as classic car treasure hunts and a Mini Rover driving experience. Meanwhile, the Podcast Lounge will see well known motoring podcasts including Driven and TyreKickers UK record episodes in front of a live audience.

Meet the Experts returns for 2024, which sees informative panel discussions hosted by the likes of Alex Kersten, Top Dead Centre, HubNut and idriveaclassic. Those with a penchant for getting their hands dirty will be drawn to the popular Restoration Workshop, where the team from Gilbert-Michaelson will be on hand to demonstrate their knowledge and share their skills with practical demonstrations.

Lancaster Insurance’s hotly contested Pride of Ownership competition allows showgoers to vote for one of 20 privately owned classics as the winner of the Motor Show’s autumn final. This is complemented by Meguiar’s Club Showcase, which tasks an expert judging panel with crowning the UK’s best motoring club.

Visitors will have the opportunity to experience some of their dream cars in Sporting Bears’ Dream Rides. Here, an eclectic mix of around 100 enthusiast-owned machines will be available for ten-mile passenger rides in exchange for a donation to children’s charities.

Those looking to purchase a classic will be able to head over to the Dealer Hall, where models from a variety of marques to suit a wide range of budgets can be found.

Iconic Auctioneers will be holding its NEC Iconic Sale for both cars and motorcycles on November 9 and 10 respectively. The British auction house will also be offering coveted automobilia throughout the weekend.

And as ever, there will be a dizzying array of parts, accessories and automobilia available at the autojumble.

Hothouse Media titles Magneto and Octane will be both be present at the event, with separate stands. Make sure to drop by to chat to the teams and grab special offers.
