The Gulf Historic Dubai GP Revival has confirmed 30-plus icons from Formula 1, Group C, FIA GT and more for its November festival of motor sport.
Last year’s winner – James Hunt’s Hesketh 308B Dutch GP victor – is due to return, alongside newcomers such as Alan Jones and Carlos Reutemann’s 1981 Williams FW07C, which took four victories that year, as well as a 1992 Benetton B192 driven by Martin Brundle and Michael Schumacher, and a 1991 Ferrari 643 driven by Jean Alesi and Alain Prost. The Ferrari picked up six podiums during the season, including second and third place for Prost in the French and Italian GPs respectively.
The GT section sees the 1986 Le Mans-winning Porsche 962, as piloted by Derek Bell, Hans-Joachim Stuck and Al Holbert, line up against a 2007 Maserati MC12 GT1 and a 2007 Pescarolo 01-5 LMP1 driven to third place at Le Mans by Emmanuel Collard, Jean-Christophe Bouillon and Romain Dumas. More cars are due to be announced as the event draws near.
You’ll also be able to get up close to the cars in the Dubai Autodrome’s paddocks, and enjoy a bicycle race around the circuit. Away from the racing, Gulf Historic will be hosting a concours d’elegance, classic car show and auction, and the organisers promise concerts and a variety of fare from gourmet experiences to street food.
