The 80th edition of the Goodwood Members’ Meeting will see a selection of ‘00s GT1 Le Mans racers take to the Motor Circuit in West Sussex, UK, for an exciting demonstration on April 15-16, 2023.
The announcement forms part of Goodwood’s centenary celebrations of the Le Mans 24 Hours, which is headlined by the estate hosting its largest-ever collection of Le Mans cars at the 2023 Festival of Speed.
While 1990s GT1 cars resembled prototype race cars, the emergence of LMP regulations in the 2000s meant that GT1 category returned to its roots and was predominantly inhabited by GT machines with road-going equivalents.
Goodwood’s on-track demonstration will be conducted by Le Mans Class and GT1 race winners, including revered models such as the Aston Martin DBR9, Ferrari 550 GT1, Maserati MC12, Chrysler Viper GTS-R and Lister Storm, among others.
It’s a line-up that promises one of the most exhilarating Members’ Meeting demonstrations in the event’s history, and follows the very special Porsche Group C Celebration in 2022.
The GT1 celebration is the first of the 2023 Members’ Meeting demonstrations to be announced, with the organisers expected to reveal more in the coming months.
Tickets for the 80th Members’ Meeting are already available to Members and Fellows of the Goodwood Road Racing Club (GRRC), and can be purchased here.
GRRC fellowship is open to all and more details can be found here.
