It’s long overdue, but Scandinavia finally has an internationally recognised concours, in the form of the The Aurora. Scheduled to take place on the stunning Bjärehalvön peninsula in southern Sweden, the concours promises to attract cars that are as rare and impressive as the Aurora Borealis, from which the event gets its name. The Aurora will run from July 5-7, 2024.
Promisingly, both BMW and Swedish hypercar manufacturer Koenigsegg are officially involved as the Aurora’s respective Classic Car Partner and Hypercar Partner respectively. Visitors should expect a diverse range of collector machinery on display, as organiser MOTIKON promises the event will blend automotive past, present and future.

To that end, the event will showcase everything from pre-war vintage and veteran models, to glamorous post-war machines, modern classics and contemporary hypercars. Interestingly, The Aurora timetable is themed, which allows cars from different eras to take centre stage on each day of the event.
Event curators promise that rarely seen machines from Scandinavian collectors will feature prominently at The Aurora, with hypercars of all eras already promised to be in attendance by the Concours Committee.
Additionally, exhibitors will have the opportunity to participate in the Aurora Hypercar Experience. Arranged in partnership with Koenigsegg, the experience allows concours exhibitors to visit the marque’s Gripen Atelier, test several models on the company test track, and meet founder Christian Von Koenigsegg. Concours entry applications are available here.
Another feature of the event is The Aurora Talks, which see an invited group of guest speakers hold fascinating panel discussions about topics relating to hypercars, innovation, future classics and the preservation of the world’s automotive treasures. The line-up of guest speakers is expected to be announced in due course.
