Warwickshire-based design and engineering company CALLUM has unveiled the luxury interior for its ‘dynamic’ SKYE, an all-electric, all-wheel-drive, multi-terrain vehicle. The road-biased dynamic variant aims to strike a balance between off-road capability and on-road refinement and luxury. CALLUM’s design team believes this balance will separate the SKYE from its off-road rivals.
“While the CALLUM SKYE is capable and has a rugged exterior, the interior design is carefully and considerately refined to deliver a premium feel at every touch point,” says head of design Aleck Jones. “Clever design solutions keep the interior simple but not simplistic, giving it a light, airy and refined feel while being within a compact cabin.”
A trademark design feature of the CALLUM SKYE is the horizontal bar graphic that extends from the front to the rear of the vehicle, cutting through the doors. This bold visual element is echoed in the interior, where a bright silver, premium metallic finish traces the cabin, complemented by matching accents on the centre console and steering wheel.
“We’ve had challenging weight targets to achieve, so we’ve utilised lightweight solutions where possible without compromising on the luxury feel,” explains CALLUM’s colour, material and finish designer Charlotte Jones. “Inside, the bright silver, premium metallic-coated finish on the doors, dash and centre console matches the CALLUM level of quality in our recent Jaguar C-X75 project, while saving essential weight.”
A blade-like centre console houses essential switchgear and creates an eye-catching line that runs between the front seats. This extends into a geometric shape containing touchscreen rotary dials for the HVAC system, as well as other important features.
The dashboard, meanwhile, is purposely simple. It is characterised by a central touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, plus a glovebox hand-trimmed in luxurious Bridge of Weir upholstery – which also appears on the seats and steering wheel.
“This has been an incredibly intricate and precise project undertaken by the team at Bridge of Weir’s Advanced Design Studio,” Jones continues. “The quality of Bridge of Weir’s leather is unsurpassed, and it has been fantastic to utilise exciting digital-printing technology, which has allowed us to add further design accents and nods to CALLUM’s history.”
Customers will be able to create the SKYE of their dreams thanks to the firm’s extensive personalisation options for both the interior and exterior.
The CALLUM SKYE made its public debut at the Concours on Savile Row – organised by the team behind Magneto – in May 2024. Developed to deliver a rewarding driving experience both on- and off-road, the SKYE is CALLUM’s first all-electric production vehicle.
Order books are open, with prices starting from £80,000 to £110,000.
