Broad Arrow Auctions has announced it will hold the Porsche 75th Anniversary Auction at the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta, US on June 8-10, 2023. Broad Arrow Group was founded in 2021 and acquired by automotive lifestyle company Hagerty last year.
As the official auction partner of Porsche Cars North America, Broad Arrow’s special one-off sale commemorates the marque’s 75th anniversary by offering 75 of the most desirable Porsche models currently available.
The No. 001/001 Porsche 911 Classic Club Coupé is the headline car of the consignments revealed so far. This unique Classic Club Coupé was co-created by Porsche Classic and the Porsche Club of America through the marque’s Sonderwunsch (Special Request) programme. The model will be offered without reserve, and is available to preview at Broad Arrow’s Amelia Auction on March 2-4, 2023.
Based on a 996 Carrera, the Classic Club Coupé features a raft of unique upgrades inspired by the 2010 911 Sport Classic – a limited-production model that was never available in the US. The Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen-built Classic Club Coupé has a water-cooled 381bhp flat-six with an 8000rpm redline, along with a six-speed manual transmission. The entire drivetrain was transplanted from a 2004-2005 996.2-generation 911 GT3.
Finished in a unique shade of Sport Grey Metallic, the exterior features a ducktail spoiler reminiscent of the 1972 Carrera RS 2.7, as well as a motor sport-style double-bubble roof that creates additional headroom for the driver’s helmet.
In the two years since its founding, Broad Arrow Group has already sold several significant Porsches, including the 1979 Porsche 935 that took overall victory at the 1979 Daytona 24 Hours and a 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder Weissach Package ($1.9m) that crossed the block at the auction house’s inaugural Monterey sale.
“There are few brands as significant to all facets of the collector car hobby as Porsche,” said Hagerty Marketplace president Kenneth Ahn. “Our veteran team of specialists has been responsible for the sale of some of the most significant collectable Porsche cars the collector market has ever seen, and their expertise will again drive the presentation of some of the best classic and collectable Porsches at auction this spring.”
Ahn’s sentiments were echoed by Hagerty CEO Mckeel Hagerty, who acquired Broad Arrow Auctions in 2022: “This auction is personally exciting to me because of my lifelong love of Porsche, but it’s also exciting for the entire team at Hagerty and our members to see these two great brands come together.”
Broad Arrow has stated that more details about auction consignments and other events planned for the 75th-anniversary weekend in Atlanta will be confirmed in the coming weeks. For more information, click here.
