Bonhams Cars has announced several new appointments across its European operation, re-strengthening its team and continuing the current auctions staff merry-go-round that has even seen former Bonhams Europe chairman Philip Kantor swap sides.
Bonhams’ newly expanded team includes Tomas Schultz as head of the European department in Stockholm, Gabriel Rapetti as senior specialist in Paris, Max Gagnebin as senior specialist in Geneva and London, and Simon Kihlstedt as specialist in Stockholm.
“As we move into 2025, we’re ushering in a new era for Bonhams Cars, reaffirming our dedication to presenting the world’s finest classic cars and cutting-edge supercars at auction,” said James Knight, Bonhams Cars senior advisor. “These new appointments mark the start of the redevelopment of the European team in order to expand our reach and strengthen our team in key regions across Europe.”

Tomas Schultz moves to Bonhams Cars from Collecting Cars, where he was head of Northern and Central Europe. He will oversee Bonhams Cars’ European operations, including sales in France, Switzerland, Belgium and Monaco.
Gabriel Rapetti has been involved in the automotive industry for years, with a strong network particularly in France and surrounding regions.
Max Gagnebin returns to Bonhams after a stint at The Classic Motor Hub in the UK, where he developed a network of clients across Europe and beyond. His role will include strengthening the market in Switzerland, where Bonhams Cars has hosted its Bonmont Sale for the past five years.
Stockholm-based Simon Kihlstedt, joining from Collecting Cars, will focus on expanding the Nordic car market, working with Bonhams’ network of auction houses – Bruun Rasmussen in Copenhagen and Bukowskis in Stockholm.
Meanwhile, Stephanie Pinault will be based in Paris, bringing 13 years of experience in operations and events, including from the renowned Peter Auto, where she ran many rally and classic motor sport events.
In the US, Nick Smith has been appointed as senior specialist in Los Angeles, while over in New York Ian Gabriele and Allan Greenfield have become specialists and Zane Hodgen is junior specialist.
All this follows Bonhams Cars’ successful return to the historic Grand Palais in Paris in February this year, where the sale achieved €18 million total and a 91 percent sell-through rate. Its next sales includes Goodwood Members’ Meeting on April 13, The Miami Auction on May 3, The Bonmont Sale, Switzerland on June 29, Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 11, The Quail Auction, California on August 15, Goodwood Revival on September 13, The Audrain Auction, Rhode Island on October 4 and The Zoute Sale on October 12.
