A 1975 Lamborghini Countach LP400 Periscopio that has spent the past decade in a barn on an island in the Atlantic is to be put up for auction at Artcurial’s Rétromobile sale in the New Year.
The ninth production Countach built, it was first delivered new in France by Etablissements Thépenier. It’s been in the current owner’s possession since 1983, bought when he was under 30 years old. For the past ten years, it has been stored on island in the Atlantic facing La Rochelle.
Despite the proximity to metal-troubling salt, Artcurial describes the car as being in exceptionally well conserved condition, while the interior is said to be superb. The chassis and engine are claimed to be matching numbers, and it wears 87,558km on the odometer.
It’s due to be put up for auction between February 3 and 4, 2023 at Artcurial’s Retromobile sale. It’s estimated at between €800,000 and €1.2m. More details can be found here.
