RUF, the legendary crafter of mutant Porsche-based creations such as the CTR3 and Yellowbird, has teamed up with Bamford Watch Department and Highsnobiety to create a TAG Heuer Carrera inspired by the brand’s traditional colours.
The watch has a green dial with yellow accents, while the RUF and Highsnobiety logos feature in yellow. Meanwhile the second hand moves around the dial with racing stripes at the tip, which the sub-dials display green concentric rings, and the yellow sub-dial hands continue the collection’s colour theme.
Two custom straps are provided – a Saffiano Verde leather strap in green with yellow stitching, or there’s a Correa Nato strap in green with the RUF logo and yellow stitching. It comes in a special box made from green frosted acrylic with a green leather insert.
“It is a true honour to work with Highsnobiety again on this great project. I have always had a love affair with RUF cars,” said George Bamford, the founder of Bamford Watch Department. “The RUF CTR Yellowbird has always been the pin up car on my wall. It has been amazing to work with TAG Heuer, Highsnobiety and RUF and to be part of this amazing capsule collection.”
The rest of the collection includes a varsity jacket with RUF and Highsnobiety logos, a work shirt, trousers and coveralls, along with an array of hoodies, sweatshirts, T-shirts, shorts, jeans, overalls and caps that reference both RUF and Highsnobiety.
