Aston Martin has revealed the limited-edition DB12 Goldfinger Edition to celebrate its 60-year association with the James Bond film franchise. A mere 60 examples will be produced, and each will be individually crafted by the marque’s bespoke Q division.
The British manufacturer’s association with James Bond began with the iconic Silver Birch DB5 that took a starring role in the 1964 film Goldfinger. While Bond’s DB5 was festooned with gadgets such as machine guns, a revolving number plate and an ejector seat, the DB12 Goldfinger Edition adds more subtle touches inspired by the 007 film.
Each DB12 Goldfinger Edition is fitted with 21-inch multi-spoke wheels painted in a unique silver colour with a diamond-treatment finish. Complementing the alloys are black brake calipers, bespoke gold side strakes, a unique Aston Martin emblem finished in silver with black enamel and ‘Q’ fender badges.

Meanwhile, the interior showcases fluted leather Sports Plus seats, a tribute to the iconic DB5, enhanced with a Prince of Wales check perforation pattern that echoes Bond’s signature suit. Prince of Wales check can also be found on the door inserts and headliner, and is etched into the passenger footwell treadplate, too.
The sills are decorated with Goldfinger 60th anniversary plaques, and 18k gold-plated interior accents decorate the drive mode rotary dial and roller controls, as well as the notched gear selector that takes inspiration from the golden tracking device used by 007 in the film. Gold can also be found in the trim inlays, and the precious metal is also woven into the 2X2 Twill Gloss carbonfibre surfaces. Finishing off the interior’s Bond touches is the eight of hearts motif embroidered into the driver’s sun visor, which serves as a nod to the last playing card drawn during the Miami pool scene in Goldfinger.
Mechanically, the DB12 Goldfinger Edition boasts the same powertrain as the regular version. Up front is a Mercedes-AMG-sourced 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that sends 671bhp and 590lb ft to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission and electronic differential. The performance on tap is certainly potent: 0-60mph in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 202mph.
Each of the 60 special editions will be accompanied by an array of exclusive gifts. These include a custom car cover, a key presentation box and a Silver Birch Speedform model, as well as a section of the Furka Pass scene from Goldfinger in 35mm film. Owners will also receive a golden limited-edition Aston Martin magazine, and the gifts will be presented in a Globe-Trotter attaché case that mirrors the design of the car with a Silver Birch exterior and Prince of Wales check interior.
To celebrate their purchase, owners can quaff a magnum of 2007 vintage of Bollinger Champagne that’s individually numbered, from 007 Champagne flutes presented in a Globe-Trotter Air Cabin Case.
