Anticipation is building for the 82nd edition of the Goodwood Members’ Meeting, which gets underway on April 12-13, 2025 and promises a memorable springtime weekend of Historic motor sport.

Each year, thousands of enthusiasts make their way to the Goodwood Motor Circuit in West Sussex for the season-opening extravaganza. And they won’t be disappointed – this year’s edition promises to be particularly spectacular.

The headline attractions for 2025 include the GT3 Shoot-Out contest, as well as an evocative tribute to Ayrton Senna, whose first Formula 1 victory was secured 40 years ago on April 21, 1985, in his iconic JPS-liveried Lotus 97T.

Goodwood has confirmed that a fleet of 20 GT3 cars that raced between 2006 and 2012 – including Audi R8s, Aston Martin DBRS9s and BMW Z4 GT3s – will be competing on the circuit across the weekend.

The celebration will see the thunderous GT3 machinery take to the track each morning, before a handful of the world’s greatest racing drivers take to the wheel for the qualifying Shoot-Out on Saturday afternoon and the final Shoot-Out on Sunday.

Formula 1 fans, meanwhile, will be delighted with the opportunity to witness Senna’s race-winning Lotus 97T complete special on-track demonstrations on both Saturday and Sunday. Adding to the poignance of the demo run is the fact that the car will be driven by Ayrton’s nephew and former Formula 1 star Bruno Senna.

Fans of more contemporary machinery will be very well catered for, too. Gordon Murray Automotive (GMA) has appeared at the Members’ Meeting since 2021, and has used the event to publicly debut its radical T.50 hypercars.

This year, GMA returns to showcase its T.33 and T.50 models on track, where they will be driven by IndyCar champion Dario Franchitti. Visitors will also be able to see these spectacular machines up close in the paddock, as well as a selection of cars from the personal collection of marque founder and legendary F1 designer Gordon Murray.

Just weeks after having its 2026 F1 entry confirmed, Cadillac has revealed it will display its 2025 World Endurance Championship challenger at the event. The car, finished in its stunning Hertz Team JOTA livery, has never before been publicly displayed in Europe.

Even more thrillingly, one of the team’s two Cadillac V-Series.R LMDh cars will complete a series of high-speed demonstration laps, marking this the first time a contemporary WEC Hypercar has taken to the Goodwood Motor Circuit.

Aside from the exciting on-track demonstrations, spectators will also be treated to a packed timetable of Historic racing – and every machine competing will be run exclusively on sustainable fuels.

The Members’ Meeting grids are predominantly composed of race cars and bikes that are at least 30 years old. The new Win Percy Trophy promises to be a highlight of this year’s racecard, and sees Group 1 touring cars that raced between 1970 and 1982 in a thrilling 45-minute contest on Sunday.

Entry is restricted to machines with less than 3.0 litres of displacement, so the grid is filled with lightweight and compact race cars such as Minis, Volkswagen Golfs and Ford Fiestas. Those who have watched these diminutive machines take part in the Gordon Spice Trophy will know just how fierce the battles between these agile machines can be.

The Hailwood Trophy for classic motorcycles returns for its fifth consecutive year in 2025, remaining one of the most thrilling and popular races to watch. The exciting line-up features classic 250cc and 350cc machines, as well as Formula 750 bikes from renowned manufacturers such as Yamaha, Honda and Ducati. The contest consists of two races over the weekend, with the final results determined by combined placings from both events.

Other blue riband races include the Gurney Cup and Moss Trophy. Introduced at the 76th Members’ Meeting, the Gurney Cup sees deafening sports-racing prototypes that competed between 1963 and 1966 compete for glory in a 45-minute, two-driver duel. The entry list sees Ford GT40s and McLaren M1As race against period models from Porsche, Lotus and more. It promises to be one of the fastest – and loudest – events of the weekend.

The Moss Trophy, meanwhile, trades V8 thunder and outright speed for glamorous closed-cockpit GT race cars that competed between 1958 and 1962. Jaguar E-types, Shelby Cobras and Aston Martin DB5s will recapture the spirit of Goodwood’s period RAC TT races, while honouring the memory of Sir Stirling Moss.
