The inaugural Anantara Concorso Roma, set to have taken place on April 24-27, 2025, has been postponed for a year due to the funeral of Pope Francis on Saturday April 26, 2025 in Rome.
The much-anticipated concours, which was due to have featured 50 of the greatest Italian cars, will now take place in April 2026.
The Anantara hotel group, organising the event, released this statement:
“Out of deep respect for the passing of Pope Francis and the significance of related events, we regret to announce the postponement of the Anantara Concorso Roma, which will be rescheduled to April 16-19, 2026.”
Concours director Jeremy Jackson-Sytner told us: “As we had hoped, we have had nothing but total understanding and 100 percent support from the car owners, our partners and all those who were planning a visit to the event. The Roman authorities have respected our decision, acknowledging that it couldn’t have been an easy decision to take.
“Although this is an unprecedented situation for an inaugural event, in the circumstances we had no options. The organising team is already focusing on the 2026 event from April 16-19, and are promising it will be even bigger and better.
“We would like to express our huge thanks to everybody concerned for their understanding, and look forward to welcoming them back to Rome next spring.”
